Every Monday at 5:00 p.m., we host our general meetings to provide our members with the incredible opportunity to hear guest speakers from various industries, share about their experiences in the business world.
A few of the guest speakers that we have had in the past include professionals from Tumblr, ASICS, Twitter, Saatchi & Saatchi, and RPA. These professionals provide valuable career insight that enrich our understanding of the business world.
Meetings are also the best way for members to network with fellow members, stay updated with upcoming events and learn about other opportunities our chapter is offering.
FIRM
TOURS
One of the most valuable benefits that we provide are the tours to renowned agencies, corporations, and firms within Southern California.
Our members are able to learn about the way in which these businesses operate and how their work culture is. Typically, at the end of each tour, the company we visit also hosts an "Employee Q&A" session, where members can ask current employees about their firsthand experiences. Members are also free to inquire about any recommendations that these employees may have for personal and professional growth.
These firm tours are also an opportunity for members to connect with professionals from different industries. We strongly advise members to practice networking at these firm tours. We also encourage them to bring a note
It is critical to provide exposure to these agencies in order for AMA members to understand what their future may look like.
We are proud to have connections within some of the biggest companies and agencies in Southern California. We have exciting tours coming up this upcoming school year, so keep an eye out!

This year, our philanthropic partner of choice is the Long Beach Rescue Mission.
They help fight homelessness in the local community by:
+ Providing over 275,000 meals per year
+ Housing men, women, and children
+ Leading life-changing programs
+ Offering career training
+ Hosting community worship
We fundraise through events specifically for our charity of choice every year, while also volunteering and raising awareness for that organization.
Help us support the Long Beach Rescue Mission.

EVENTS
Networking with your peers is something that we consider to be extremely valuable. For that reason, our chapter makes an effort to build experiences our members will never forget.
Every semester, we host multiple social events where our members are able to network and create long lasting friendships. At our events, we welcome also try to invite individuals from other organizations to ensure that our members have the opportunity to truly expand their network.
During the 2018-2019 academic year, we have many exciting social events planned, such as Broomball and the Spring Art Gala. We hope to see you there!

ANIMATION
Creative Nights give you the chance to strengthen your imagination and creativity.
You will learn how to use complex design software, such as Illustrator and Photoshop, and other, fundamental design principles to create beautiful graphics.
You will also discover how to create motion graphics and edit a video using Premier Pro and After Effect.
Creative Nights for the Fall 2018 will be from 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. at CBA 236.

A
Every spring, AMA Nationals hosts a marketing conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, where over 300 collegiate chapters from all areas of the country come together to participate in a series of workshops and competitions. It is a great opportunity for members to challenge their skills, network with fellow chapters, and develop professionally.
For the past few years, our chapter has attended this conference and won several awards. We encourage all of our members to take advantage of this opportunity and we strive to take as many members to the conference as possible each year.
The upcoming AMA Collegiate Conference in New Orleans will be on April 11-13, 2019.

LOYALTY PROGRAM
Points will be awarded based on the following criteria:
+ 5 POINTS:
Attend general meeting, or wear AMA t-shirt, or attend a social event
+ 10 POINTS:
Attend a community service event or fundraising event
+ 15 POINTS:
Attend professional networking events such as firm tours and the Regional Conference
+ 40 POINTS:
Attend the Annual International Collegiate Conference
We recognize our members for their participation and involvement in the American Marketing Association. Through the "Membership Loyalty Program," we encourage our members to use the resources we provide to enhance their professional development.
The Membership Loyalty Program also gives our members the opportunity for an interactive experience that enriches their time in AMA with friendly competition and fun activities.
Members will be rewarded through our point system. Rewards include a certificate and surprise prizes such as gift cards. We also celebrate their achievements throughout the year at our Awards Banquet.

Do you want to get the most value out of AMA Long Beach? Join our AMA Connects program!
This program establishes a mentorship like relationship between board members and general members. If a member needs to find out more information about upcoming events or how to navigate and indulge in all the benefits that AMA Long Beach provides, then they can ask their designated e-board member. If a member needs advice on how to grow professionally or simply need advice on what professors they should take, they can look at their casual mentor.
