Let Me Tell You My Story...
My name is Thinh Toan Ly, but you can call me Adams. I'm going to be a junior in the Fall 2018 semester at California State University Long Beach, and I'm majoring in Marketing.

I'm from Sai Gon, Viet Nam, and I lived there for 18 years. I graduated from a Vietnamese international high school called ISHCMC American Academy in May 2016, and I came to the United States for college.
​
I believe one of my strengths is effective time management and creativity. I use a time management method called "timeboxing," which is basically when I assign a fixed amount of time for a task; for a more detailed explanation, click here! It took a myriad amount of creativity to be constantly creating content for Keen Social, because I had to come up with new ideas every week to make the visual content appealing. Further, I think my creativity is one of main force behind the huge engagement rate and growth on their social media.
My introvert personality isn’t my strongest point, because Marketers usually have to be the loudest person the room so that they can have people attentions. However, I’m working to be the loudest person in the room by attending public speaking workshops provided by my university. Moreover, I try to spend 10 mins everyday speaking in front of the mirror or webcam to refine my public speaking skills such as posture, tone, and gestures. Still, maybe I don’t have the loudest voice in the room, but I believe I have the loudest mind since one of my strengths is my creativity.
Why add an "s" to Adam?
Because it's my brand.
First, biblically, Adam was the first man to be created by God, thus it was the first name.
Second, the "s" in the Apple iPhone product line stands for improvement. For instance, iPhone 6, then iPhone 6s, etc.
Thus, one of the ways to interpret my name is that I'm the improvement the original, and that's my brand.
"My passion is to create things that will have an excellent quality, and these things include writings, decks, video, illustrations, graphics, etc. To achieve that excellent quality, I usually and diligently examine with the little details of the things I create."
I have a huge interest in technology, especially in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). I believe AI is the future because it will be smarter than us, and therefore it has power to fundamentally improve our contemporary society. In fact, AI is already better than us some fields like medicine, where it can accurately diagnose malignant diseases.
I know that machine learning plays a pivotal role in AI development, so I wrote a paper in the my sophomore year that discusses about the danger of it. Moreover, you can read my paper about AI in my "Others" page, and it's called "The True Threat of Artificial Intelligence." Ultimately, AI is a topic that I can talk about all day.

It's incredibly easy to hire an international student as an intern!

All I need to do is go through the super simple Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT) process at my school, and no sponsoring is required for a CPT or OPT intern!

Still, if you want to hire me for full-time after the internship, then I'll need to get a sponsor from you. However, don't be discourage to hire me because of this fact. Give me a year as the opportunity to prove that my talent is worth your effort of sponsorship!

The Most Valuable Thing That I Can Offer...
Besides all of the software that I can use, my ability of effectively learn new things, and my work experience, I believe the most valuable thing that I can offer you is true diversity. I think HR Managers want diverse employees that come from all walks life because those employees can offer new perspectives to solve complex problems. Hence, I can bring new perspectives to the table, since I'm grew up Viet Nam and lived there for 18 years, which allows me to experience a walk of life that is different from my American peers.

However, coming from a unique walk of life doesn't make me stubborn, and I don't mind my teammate disagreeing with me. Genuinely, I welcome and embrace change. Thus, this makes me a cohesive team member that can offer new perspectives, and that's what make me a proficient employee for your organization!
